Question by freckleface: My 2 yr old daughter has eczema, I need Pull-up style diapers that won’t make her break out. Suggestions?
I currently use Parent’s Choice diapers, they are great for her. I have tried Pampers Pull-Up, White Cloud pull-up, pretty much any brand that Walmart carries. She continues to have reactions to any diaper/pull-up that has any type of adative.

put her in cloth training pants. It does not affect eczema. The best way to get rid of eczema is to grab a bag of frozen peas put it on the the area where it itches the most. It will go away fast seriously.

Please ignore the “putting cold pea’s on it” comment! That is stupid. It might make it stop itching but it will make it worse… I promise! I have had eczema since I was born. The reason she is breaking out is because all of those diapers have Fragrances. DO NOT use anything with scents (for the exception of bath and body works products… they are made for people with eczema) That is where you will have the most reactions from. I would suggest using a cotton type brand if you can find one. My mother i know just used the kind that made me break out, but she gave me an oatmeal bath every night which made it not as bad.
I suggest for future reference, that you be sure to ALWAYS have a Humidifier and a ton of benedryl. Benedryl is what I lived by. Before my doctor suggested benedryl I would wake up in the middle of the night with blood all over my legs and sheets because i scratched my legs so hard. it just completely tore my skin apart. It is a lot better now thank god, but eczema tends to stick with you for a long time!

Are you sure it is the diapers? When my daughter was small the allergy turned out to be not from the diapers, but from milk and the reaction when she peed or pooped in the diaper. Once I switched her to soy products, the problem went away.

i agree with the checking to see if it has to do with milk! my daughter was diagnosed with eczema when she was around one but i noticed that something was still wrong with her so my sister suggested i switch her to soy and the problem went away no more eczema! but i also understand that if she has had this problem since birth or you have ruled out any kind of allergy then what i suggest is pull ups but not the kind with cool alert or extra chemicals because it will irritate her a lot more! i also agree with the cloth diaper suggestion but understand that having to use cloth diapers is such a big hassle so try that for when your having a day a home so that she has at least some relieve during those days! best of luck with your little one!

My daughter has severe eczema. When she was two, we thought it was diapers too. We found out she is allergic to pineapple and strawberries. See an allergist. Eczema is your body reacting to something either internal or external. You may be able to determine what it is. Good luck.

You can you the Good Old Fashion Baking Soda,
use 2 teaspoons of baking soda
3 drops of tea tree essential oil
and mix it together.
Hopes this heps…..poor baby.
