Question by amyapplebe: An autistic 5yr boy needs washable training pants that don’t cost .00 a pair. Where can his mom buy these?
I told her I’d ask the bloggers on Yahoo if anyone knows where she could buy washable training pants for her 5 year old autistic son that don’t cost a fortune. She is raising him by herself and doesn’t make a lot of money. He weighs about 45 pounds. She has tried the disposable type. They work to well and he can’t tell when he is wet. She wants the old fashioned cloth kind.
Thank you for any help and have a wonderful day to all!

Heres some but you’d have to order online and then it’s 3 pack for .99 so it’s kinda’ cheaper than the other kind she’s using now. and there are a lot of good reviews so you should check this out

Here is a suggestion for her. It is working well for my son.
I put 2 pairs of regular underwear on him. It makes them more absorbent and yet he feels very wet. I have had a very hard time finding training pants and when I do they always seem to be too small.
Hope this helps!

I know you can wash some types of disposables with success. For example, you can wash “Little Swimmers” diapers in a washing machine 4-5 times before having to dispose of them. I have only heard of washing them when they are wet, not soiled. So she might try washing different brands and see if she can’t stretch some extra usage out of the disposables. I would try it in an empty washer just in case a particuar brand falls apart.
Maybe she could even find the Little Swimmers brand on clearance since it is the end of the summer and she could stock up.

Sorry, washable training pants are expensive. I had to get some for a bed wetter. The Natural Baby Catalog has some, but I paid $25 a pair for them.
