Question by Claire: I am having problems potty training my new puppy, any tips?
I am trying to train my puppy using a litter box with “puppy training pads” in it. I recognize his signs of having to go, sniffing, circling, squatting, etc., but when I bring him to the litter box with the pads, he gets very nervous and squirms and tries to jump out. It takes forever for him to poop in it. I am rewarding him, but I don’t think it is working. Any tips?

Question by summer: Do you have any tips for potty training a girl?
Our daughter is 22 months old and has now started pointing to her diaper and saying “poop”. sometimes she hasn’t gone yet so we sit on the potty but nothing happens. Once we put the diaper back on she goes and hides somewhere and then poops. We have a 4 year old son who is just now fully potty trained. She likes to watch him go potty and she loves to sit on her Dora potty but she never actually “goes” potty. We praise her for sitting there but i’m just wondering how we can help her understand that it is more than just a chair.
– I’d read that with girls sometimes its just best to switch to underware even if they still have accidents because she wont like feeling wet. (?) has anyone done this?

Just start her out slowly like for example fart loudly around her, see if that helps.
