Question by Amy A: Are there any ways to make potty training for girls faster?
My daughter is 28 months and she’ll go to the potty and sit then after a few minutes she gets up then pees either in her training pants or on the floor. What can I do to get her potty trained? She doesn’t like stickers or suckers.

don’t stress, when she’s ready, she’ll do it – having a young friend or cousin that she looks up to show her is a good help. When I thought my daughter was ready, I just took off her diaper that morning and said now we go in the potty, she’s only had 2 accidents in the past 2 months. Good luck.

Girls don’t need to use the bathroom. Girls are sugar and spice and all things nice.

Take her shopping for pretty “big girl” panties and let her pick out her favorites. Then, tell her that she can only wear them if she can keep them clean and dry. Children need incentives to work for, just like adults. If she has an accident , you may need to make a big deal about how she isn’t old enough to wear such special panties, and put them up where she can see them, but not wear them. Let her ask for them a day or two, then tell her she can try again. It worked for my daughter. When she picked them out, she wanted to wear them immediatly, and when confronted with the option of taking time to go potty in the bathroom and keeping her panties, or having to wear “baby pants”, she potty trained real fast!

I had a hard time getting my daughter to train! I took her shopping with me and told her enough was enough. You are going to pick out your own big girl panties and the potty chair of your choice, not what mom picks out. She said okay. I took her to the store, where she picked out a new potty, which wasn’t a chair at all, it was a seat one that makes the whole much smaller. That made her happy! And, she picked out all of her own panties. She did the same thing as your daughter is doing now! Good luck!

I agree with the panty shopping trip.My daughter loved frills and pretty colors. She would not soil her undies but she thought that when she went potty she got a clen new pair so that was a problem for a while but it she was easy to train so it was an ok trade.

My hubby gave her a light slap on the buttock whenever she piss on the floor. And within a week, she trained.
