Question by bubbles_bubbles_2003: my daughter is 3 years old and getting potty trained.?
and she is in a 4t pants with a pull up on (just when we go out and night time) she is in underwear all day long. but when she is fully potty trained what size pants do they go do down to? will she be in 3t or 2t or stays in 4t pants? trying to by some summer clothing for her
we have been working on potty training from about 1 1/2 years old she is doing really good but still just once in a while a accadent in her underwear.
i am not ready and i don’t think she is ready to get night time trained. i have tired before waking her at night then she stays up the rest of the night.

Kind of old to potty tarin, she should have been going on her own by age 2 but some are slower than others. get what fit her.

If the 4t pants are good in the waste and length, then keep at 4t. The puff from the pull up won’t make a big difference. My son is 2 and is potty trained, but when we do go out sometimes, I do put a pull up on and his clothes fit fine.

try pants in till you get the ones that fit.

4t at first and then i believe it is a size 2.

She will probably take a 3T. Her boom boom won’t look so puffy but she’ll be comfortable.

Also, you may want to start taking her to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I did it with my children and it didn’t take long before they started waking themselves up in the middle of the night to urinate.

    Good luck!

going from pull ups to panties all the time does not effect pant size.

Also, have you tried just putting her in the panties at night time. yes she will have accidents but after a few times MOST kids get the point. She is potty trained during the day, not difference at night time. You just have to make sure to put her on the potty FIRST THING in the AM. Which means NO FLUIDS 1-2 hours before bedtime! Can’t potty train overnight on a full bladder! Unrealistic and unfair to the child.

    Good Luck.

And dont listen to the negative comments about potty training. The majority of the reason why they say children are ready before age 2 and should be potty trained by age 2 is based on the fact that most parents used to use cloth diapers even when disposable was avail (but exp). Now a days everyone tend to lean towards disp diapers.

Babies raised with disposable diapers will 9/10 times be late potty trainers. They are not used to feeling the pee. Cloth diapered babies tend to potty train earlier.

I would buy the regular 4 size. The “T” is for toddler and they usually have some extra room for the padding of diapers.
It won’t make a huge difference, though.

She is a bit old to still be training….she has complete control of her bodily functions now and unless she’s waiting too long between trips to the potty..she shouldn’t be having accidents…or they aren’t really accidents.

You want to put her in pants that fit comfortably and not too snuggly so when she starts going potty on her own she can pull her pants or shorts down easily.

With the night time potty training cut her fluids out about 2 to 3 hours before bedtime and take her to the potty before bed.
