Question by Kim: What does the blue layer in Pampers diapers and Easy-Ups do?
I’ve noticed that only Pampers have these, and Huggies products (including Pull-Ups and Goodnites) don’t. What is it for?
Hmm… Am I right in assuming the blue layer is patented by Proctor & Gamble? Pampers and Always are both brands owned by them.

Its the super absorbant strip. Its part of their “appeal” – on girly products (always) has the absorbant strip down the middle where most of the moisture goes – the blue stuff just holds more volume than the white stuff – so you feel drier longer.

It is an extra absorbent part. My 4 month old has only ever been able to use these as he wees so much. I find them really really useful. Some panty liners have them also. They absorb so much more.

Its an extra absorbent part of the diaper so the kid feels more dry for longer.
