Question by geeky_mommy: Is Disney World potty training friendly?
My son is currently potty training and doing very well, and we are going to disney world in a few months. I have heard Of people even putting older kids back into diapers and I do not want to do that, my little guy is miserable in diapers and I also do not want to confuse him. Are there frequent restrooms? Do they have smaller toilets for toddlers? If not, is there some kind of travel-size potty thing that you put on the toilet , the kind you use to make the toilet kid-size that I could bring? Also, any tips for the trip there?
Thanks in advace

There are tons of restrooms at Disney. I’m a frequent peer (my new made up word for the day!) even when I’m not pregnant, and didn’t have any trouble finding a restroom. I haven’t been there since I’ve had children though so I’m not sure about the child size potties. You’d probably want to bring a small potty seat with you. Of course you’ll have to deal with emptying and cleaning it right then and there. I feel the same way and wouldn’t want to impede progress!

From what i can remember it is not potty training friendly. Although there a frequent bathrooms they will have a line and i have yet to notice a toddler toilet there… I would suggest bringing one of those potty seats for children with you.. (the smaller seat that fits over the large seat on the toilet..) Also just a warning I believe 99% of the toilets were automatic and i do know some children are scared of those, So be prepared.
I would suggest taking a watch that has a timer on it and taking your child to the bathroom every hour to avoid accidents. Or what every time frame you like..
Also to be safe I would bring a backpack of more clothing and maybe looking into undies that have some extra layers to help prevent accidents from going on clothing..

We went there last year with my toddler, who at the time was just starting to potty train. They have tons of bathrooms there so finding one should not be hard and we never had to wait in line. I don’t think they have small potties there, but I do know all the potties are automatic flush execpt for the ones at the baby care station. I would suggest having a pack of post its to put over the sensors to keep it from flushing, otherwise you risk scarring them.
I would suggest getting a travel potty seat to go over the toilet to make the hole smaller. They will fit over the potty and then you can just fold them up and stick them back in your purse or bag. I usualy rinse it off in the sink and keep it in a gallon size ziploc bag. Try the ‘Pull-ups’.
I don’t agree that these help when potty training, but they did help when taking trips.
Your son is still in underwear and should there be an accident, there is less hassel about clean up for everyone and you won’t have to pack-up a bunch of extra clothes.
It’s one or two days, Have Fun!

I haven’t been to Disney World, but I have a solution for the big toilets. This potty topper folds up, so you don’t have to carry a big one around-it can fit in your diaper bag/purse. They retail for about $10. This link is to Babies R Us, but some Walmarts carry it as well. Hope this helps!
