Dora Potty Training on eBay:

Question by greenrx78: Potty training question?
I have a 23 month old girl who is showing interest in potty training. She likes to sit on her Dora potty and pretend to wipe, and she’s just now starting to tell me when she’s wet (though its always after the fact). My question is, ordinarily I would think to start training now…but I am due to have a little boy in about one month. I have heard that you shouldn’t start potty training at the same time that you introduce a major life change, such as a little brother. Should I wait 6 months, or do you think that I should start now?

Wait. I had my second child when my first was 22 months. They will go backward as they will loose some attention that they are so used to getting. I waited until the baby was about 6mths and did it. If you are going to wait stop all the potty signs now like the Dora potty. Put it away and restart in a few months.

When I was ready the fastest way was to just go for it. Take out the potty reintroduce and then straight underwear. My daughter had an accident of 1 and 2 and wanted to go on the potty from there. It will be a messy couple days but if you stay home for 2-3 days and stay on it you will be amazed how fast.

Granted they will have accidents as they learn but be calm and say its ok your learning you will get it. Positive reinforcement goes a long way.
