Question by Bluebird: Can you give me a site where my daughter can watch a potty training video?
I am looking around online for good potty training videos to show my 2.5 yr old daughter. The ones I have found are for parents explaining potty training and they are very boring to a toddler. Can you recommend me a site where she can watch potty training videos, preferably a cartoons with songs. Thanks.

the best way to teach your child how to use the potty is YOURSELF.. dont rely on the tv and videos to teach children anything. im sure she’s seen you use the toilet.. at home or when your out shopping and need to use the bathroom. and if not, let her. the best and most effective way to teach a child anything is to model doing it yourself. there are plenty of story books to help children understand pottying, and they are far more effective than videos because as you read, the child can ask questions, you can go into more detail and its a much more plesent and engaging experience.

Question by Kimberly: When do you start taking your toddler that is potty training out in regular underwear?
I started potty training my 2 1/2 year old daughter yesterday and she is doing great. But we had to run to the store today and I just put her in a diaper, and when we got home I had her sit on the potty and put on regular underwear. Since I did start yesterday she has had accidents but today she will start to go and realize that there is no diaper on and she will stop and start to wine so I will put her on the potty and she will finish. But when will she start to tell me that she has to go and when should I attempt to take her out in regular underwear?

wow! sounds like she has had a great start, give her a week and see how she is going, that way she has a bit more time to get the hang of it and let you know when she needs to go.

Then make sure she goes before you leave the house, and again once you get to where your going, if your shopping for a while, take her again before the car trip home, that way she knows that there are toilets where you are so she can tell you if she needs to go when your out, and you wont get caught out if your i the car
