Question by niknac: How can you get your toddler to realize underwear are not the same as diapers?
My daughter is just about 3 and this is the third time I have tried potty training her. The previous couple times was alright but then we’d have a big trip and just forget about it. Now we do have trips coming up but we just can’t put it off any longer. When I potty trained her the other times it was without underwear now I decided she should potty train with the underwear cause she spends a lot of time outside and she doesn’t need to be showing of her bits outside so we need the underwear. Please help.

that is one of your biggest mistakes, is potty training and then stopping no matter what the reason, this is one reason she is so confused on what to do. you have to start and not stop until it is done. for me, i just got a potty, left it where my child was playing and let her know that she should go potty there, and also let her buy her own “undies” to wear and told her that she could not pee in them because she would have to take them off. just stick to it. not reason why this is your 3rd try.
