Question by ♥_M•mma_♥: When did you start potty training & Was there any lil method that seemed to work best?
I was just curious when others began PTing their BOYS… I know they say 18 mon is usually @ the proper ‘maturity’ age, but I know every child is different…
Also did u use any little tricks/ideas to help your LO? I heard someone put fruit loops in the potty for an ‘aiming game’ but what other methods have ppl used?
Just Curious!

I don’t have a little boy but I have a 3 yr old and she was completely potty trained about 2 months after she turned 2. We introduced her to the potty and got excited about it. We even put a little potty in her room so when she was playing and had to go it was right there. When she started showing a lot of interest we started making sure she went and kept on her. Every time i had to potty i took her to the potty too. It took a little longer for her to go #2 in the potty but she got it and after the first month of full on potty training we started to only put panties on her and told her if she was good and went potty in big girl potty we would get her panties with dora and princesses on them and that made her excited! Also when she would wear panties with dora, princesses, any kind of character we would say ‘now if you potty on dora (whichever she was wearing) she’ll be really sad and you won’t get to wear those panties anymore.’ my cousin told me about that and it really works. We also done a potty chart with bright stickers and let her stick the stickers on it and she would get so excited.
my sister has a little boy 3 months older than my daughter and it took him a little longer to get completely potty trained. He was about 2 yrs 6 months when he was completely potty trained. she did the same thing getting him excited about potty training and big boy underwear. After he got the pottying down pretty good for about 2 wks if he pottied on himself she would put him in time out and take away his underwear with cars, spiderman, etc. on them and he got tired of getting time out and stopped pottying on hisself. She also done the cheerios, fruit loop thing and it works well for aiming.
I’ve also heard of giving them some m&m’s each time they make it to the potty. I felt stickers were a healthier reward.
Good luck!
