Question by summer: Do you have any tips for potty training a girl?
Our daughter is 22 months old and has now started pointing to her diaper and saying “poop”. sometimes she hasn’t gone yet so we sit on the potty but nothing happens. Once we put the diaper back on she goes and hides somewhere and then poops. We have a 4 year old son who is just now fully potty trained. She likes to watch him go potty and she loves to sit on her Dora potty but she never actually “goes” potty. We praise her for sitting there but i’m just wondering how we can help her understand that it is more than just a chair.
– I’d read that with girls sometimes its just best to switch to underware even if they still have accidents because she wont like feeling wet. (?) has anyone done this?

Just start her out slowly like for example fart loudly around her, see if that helps.

Question by Hunter’s mom: how to help a potty training toddler?
he is 2.5 yrs and can go pee without accident if bare skinned all day, but if he wears underwear or is fully dressed he will have an accident every time. how can I help him connect the two experiences to stop the accidents when dressed?

have him tell you when he has to go pottie and tell him that underwear are not diapers some kids learn if you dont change them right away its not cruel just tell him “if you keep wetting your underwear im not gonna change u and u will have to stay like that until you go pottie in the pottie today” u can also try giving him a prize for going like a sticker and tell him how good he was and how proud you are of him if it helps try showing him how pull ups work before u try underwear
