We have these great Baby Einstein ABC books, they came from Target for about 15 bucks, 1 book for every letter (they are small) and my son loves them. There are 3 pictures for each letter.

Sometimes when kids that little are in a new place, they just want to explore and don’t need much else. They will want to look in every crook and cranny.

Baby Einstein DVD’s always keep my boys attention, too. Right now we are working on sign language and my 21 month old loves it.

The breaks are the key and the DVD will help a ton. Magna Doodle is always good. Books are great, especially if you get in the back and read to him. Kid songs CDs work well.

I have always found it best to have a few brand new toys along. Thing hold up longer if they have never been seen before.

You can take little things to keep him busy when he tires of watching movies and he will. Pick up little things at the dollar aisle that are safe for him to play with and make it a surprise when he gets bored.(little rubber animals or dinosaurs, hot wheels, etc.) You can also get a magna doodle for travelling. They have a small version for about 5or 6 dollars. I got the larger one for my granddaughter(2 1/2 yrs) when we went to SC recently (22 hours from here) She loves to draw and there’s no mess. The pen is firmly attached and safe. Make sure you pack non messy snack, and drinks also.

favorite toys and stuffed animals, his pillow and blanket he uses, plenty of books (we got the ones you can push the buttons to make sounds), a magna doodle, coloring books, etc.
We just did a 9 hour drive in January and we had all those things and the dvd player with his favorite movie, Cars. He did so good until about 1 hour from our destination and then he was just tired and wanted to be held so we did our best to keep him entertained.
    Good Luck!

Coloring books, Sticker books, Reading books, Toys, Candy, Let her/him sit by the window so that they can look out of the window

Also get the child up early that morning so that they could maybe have a little nap during the journey
    Good luck x

The best thing is to buy some new toys for him, without he knowing them. Give him one at a time to surprise him, and u can also take some kids books with you so that U can show him lot of pictures. U can buy stickers and make him stick those stickers on a paper or book or on his dress.Like this you make the trip more enjoyable for him, dont worry! Have a good time!!

I agree with all the answers so far, but I’d like to add to make sure you have changes of clothes handy. I’m not sure if your child is potty trained yet, but it has been my experience that diapers tend to leak when the child is sitting for a long period of time. It is inconvenient to unload luggage at a rest stop to get to the baby’s suitcase and a change of clothes.

make sure to bring all his favorite toys and snacks, buy some new movies for him to watch, but also bring movies that he already likes. Also it might me a good idea to go to a dollar store and buy a bunch of little toys and things, and when he starts getting bored or a bit difficult, give him one; that should keep him occupied for a lil while

I am a single parent with twin boys, so this subject is very common to me. I usually take “goldfish”, pb & j sandwiches, and juice boxes. I bring some of their favorite movies / shows (Vegetales, Little Einsteins, almost any Disney movie, etc) And a few toys to play with (hotwheels / matchbox cars and G I joe’s, coloring books) And if they are good during the trip, When we get to our destination, I take them to walmart and let them pick out a toy of their choice. One thing that helps is having an ipod to listen to. I tune in to a radio station and let my ipod play. That way I don’t have to search for a local station or change a cd or something. I wish y’all the best on your trip. Be safe

bring some of his favorite toys and books and music. Get a few new things if you want just to make it more interesting. Keep easy to eat snacks on hand becasue there’s nothing like munching to help pass the time!
